Audition FAQS

Thank you for considering auditioning at Random Farms!

CASTING POLICY / FINANCIAL COMMITMENT

For The Edge

When registering for an audition appointment, you will be asked to pay a deposit. If Random Farms is able to cast your child in a cast that is marked as acceptable on the registration form, then you are responsible for paying the remainder of the program tuition. There are no refunds or credits if your child leaves the program. If your child is not cast in the program, your initial deposit is returned.

For Kids for a Cause & our Anti-Bullying Tour

When registering for an audition appointment, you will be asked to list the casts for which your child is available. If Random Farms is able to cast your child in a cast that is marked as acceptable on the registration form, we ask you to honor this commitment.  There is no fee to participate, however, a security deposit is required for those casts.

For the Industry Showcase

There is no financial commitment at all for this program, beyond providing 20 copies of a recent photo/resume if cast.  Tickets may be purchased for the performance, but that is optional.

FINANCIAL AID

If you are seeking financial aid, please complete the financial aid application before registering for an audition.
Visit our scholarship page for more information regarding financial aid opportunities at Random Farms.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I cancel or reschedule an audition?

Email hello@randomfarms.com. Please do not sign up for more than one appointment per performer or all appointments will be deleted.

My child doesn't have a headshot - do we need to get one for the auditions?

For the Edge, Kids for a Cause, and our Anti-Bullying Tour, headshots/photos are not required. If you are auditioning for the Industry Showcase any recent photo will do!

My child doesn't have a resume - what should I do?

Don’t worry about it – there is a place to fill in all necessary information on the online registration form.

I'd like to create a resume. What should it have on it?

The most important part of the resume is the performer’s name, phone number, and height. Then add any relevant experience or training. A resume is optional for these auditions. Sample Resume 1 | Sample Resume 2

If my child is not cast, is it appropriate for me to call the theater to find out why?

No. Please email questions of this nature to our Artistic Director, Sarah Boyle.

Does my child need to dress up for the audition?

No. Performers should dress however they feel most comfortable.

Can I watch my child audition?

We ask that parents please wait outside in the waiting area while their children audition.

What kind of dance will be taught at auditions?

For any productions that include a dance element, a short musical theater/jazz combination will be taught.

Will there be an accompanist at auditions?

For our anti-bullying tour and Kids for a Cause, there will be no accompanist provided; performers will sing to a provided track. For Edge and Industry Showcase auditions, an accompanist will be provided.

If my child is called back, what should they be prepared with?

We only have callbacks for The Edge and our anti-bullying show.  For these program, music and sides (lines from the script) will be posted on our website after the auditions.
