Yuliya Donovan (she/hers) is an actor, athlete and educator born in Odessa, Ukraine and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She has performed in NYC productions, including: alt Hamlet (The Player’s Theatre) Gi60 20th Year (The Tank), Romeo and Juliet (El Barrios Art Space), Love’s Labour’s Lost (American Theatre of Actors), Othello (Manhattan Shakespeare Project). Yuliya speaks fluent Russian and is a proficient tennis player; playing, coaching and competing for 20+ years. She has been a director and designer for children’s theatre productions at No Limits Performing Arts Studio (Wizard of Oz; The Descendants), and has written, directed and choreographed original pieces for Elmwood Day Camp and Brooklyn Acting Lab. Yuliya is a proud company member of Emit Theatre and Dialogue with Three Chords, as well as a producing partner and company member with Gone in 60 Seconds: International One Minute Play Festival. She has taught college theatre classes (Acting I, Acting II, Voice & Speech, Sitcom Production and Feminist Theatre) at University of North Carolina Greensboro, Long Island University Post, Centenary University and University of Mount Saint Vincent. Yuliya has studied theatre abroad with Tisch NYU in Paris and UNCG in London. She holds a BFA in Acting from CUNY Brooklyn College and an MFA in Acting from University of North Carolina Greensboro. Yuliya combines her background, athleticism and passion for theatre to create a vibrant, fun and educational environment for all of her students.
