Jonathan Gorst began his professional career as a Music Director in the historic Imperial Hotel of Cripple Creek, Colorado at the age of 16. He received his Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance at the University of Northern Colorado, where he became heavily involved in the Music Theater and Voice Department. After his first visit to New York City, Jonathan was hired as the Keyboard 1 player and Associate Conductor for the Broadway National Tour of CATS when he was 23 years old. From there, Jonathan served as Music Director for the national tours of CATS, The Color Purple, and The Phantom of the Opera, as well as playing and conducting for dozens of Broadway, regional and national tours. Over his 25 year career, he has worked with the leaders of the industry from New York to Las Vegas and on the International Stage. Jonathan and his wife, Marisa, moved back to the Hudson Valley in 2019. It is his sincere joy to share his experience with the next generation of performers and he hopes to inspire his students to reach for their dreams, wherever they may lead.
