Jellybeans Template
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is a family musical adapted from Mark Twain’s beloved novel and specially commissioned by The Random Farms Kids’ Theater. In the story, Tom meets and falls in love with Becky Thatcher. However, Becky’s father, Judge Thatcher, does not approve of Becky fraternizing with a mischievous boy like Tom. Tom prevails when he secretly takes Becky’s punishment for her after she spills ink on the schoolmaster’s prized book of verses. Then, he returns home from a pirate adventure, unwittingly returning the stolen treasure to its rightful owner.
Registration opens on June 12 @ 8PM.

TUITION*
$570 – Subsidized tuition
$950 – Actual cost
- Did you know Random Farms is a non-profit and tuition only covers 60% of the cost of putting a child through the program
- Our subsidized tuition prices make participating affordable to a more diverse community.
- Please consider paying the actual cost, and everything over the subsidized tuition amount will be a tax-deductible donation! This will help support our outreach efforts, which include providing scholarships, discounted tickets, and free performances to those in need.
*Each registrant is also responsible for a $10 processing fee at the time of registration.
COSTUMES
While Random Farms will provide the majority of each performer’s costume, participants are responsible for providing his/her own shoes/tights and undergarments as per the costume memo (to be provided once rehearsals start).
SCHOLARSHIPS
A limited number of financial aid packages are available. Please view our Scholarship page for information and application.
HOW TO REGISTER
Enrollment in this program is first-come, first-served. Registration begins at 8:00pm on Wednesday, June 12.
Read our helpful tips and FAQs about registering. In order to register, you will need a credit card. Registrations are done online only. After you have registered, please save your email confirmation. If you don’t get one, it may mean that your registration did not go through. If you don’t get a confirmation, please email [email protected]. Please also be sure that your confirmation has the correct group and price listed (it should say “Jellybeans” and not “Workshop”).
WAIT LIST / PRIORITY REGISTRATION
There is no cost to join a wait list. If a spot becomes available, we will email you and you can decide at that time if you would like to take it. If we are not able to find a spot for your child in any group, your child will receive priority registration for the next Jellybeans production. That means that you will be given the opportunity to register the day before the program opens to the public. In most cases, this means you will get a spot in your first choice group. To find out where your child is on a wait list (you can join as many as you want, even if you are already in a group), email our registration team at [email protected]. It is difficult for us to know if/when that will happen, but typically children drop right before the program starts.

NOTE TO PARENTS
The Random Farms Jellybeans schedule is designed to be manageable for families and children. The commitment is just once a week, with only one extra rehearsal right before the show. Each performer can take up to one full absence, plus up to two “shadows,” which allows performers to come during another section, if they have a conflict during their own time. The mandatory rehearsals leading up to the show are extremely important and ensure that every cast member is comfortable and prepared when it is time to do the show. Performers may not miss, “shadow,” or be late for the last three sessions. Performers who miss (or are late to) a mandatory rehearsal, for whatever reason, are not permitted to perform in the show. Please do not sign up for this program if you have conflicts during any of those times.
PARTICIPATION POLICY
For Sessions 1 – 8:
- Children may take up to 1 absence
- Children may also shadow up to 2 rehearsals (see Note To Parents below)
- If a child is more than 20 minutes late to rehearsal twice, this will count as one full absence, per the absence policy
For Sessions 9 – 11 (Mandatory):
- Every child is required to participate in the final three sessions of his/her cast
- This includes the final run thru at the studio, the dress rehearsal at the theater and the final dress/performance at the theater
- Switches, shadowing, and absences are not permitted
Participants who do not comply with this participation policy may be removed from the program and their account put On Hold, as described in RFKT’s Standard Agreement, until parents, participant and RFKT can reach agreement moving forward. Please note that there are no refunds/credits.*A shadow is like a make-up. If your child misses a session, s/he can make-up the same session with another group. For example, if you are in group B and miss session 3, you can shadow session 3 with group C.
